posted on tweeter as well but ill try here, any other illustrators have experience with looking for an agent? ive got a book that lists a ton of childrens book literary agents, but isnt there somewhere that lists only illustrator representation? these kids book literary agents mainly want illustrators with manuscripts, which i dont have. i just wanna illustrate book covers but the big dogs wont even look at you without representation

Thrilled I get to post my part of @ghostsharkpress ‘s transology zine before pride month ends. Our prompt was to recontextualize a formative childhood cartoon through the lense of transness/gncness.
These are thoughts I’ve had spilling around in my head for a while and seeing how important Treasure Planet was for me as a kid I thought it would be perfect. I always struggled with the fact I don’t really have any older male guide or figure to learn myself from so as a kid I tried to mimic the masculinity of shows or my peers. Growing older and wanting to step out of boyhood has really been a journey of self discovery and self worth and I’m really proud of the person I’m becoming.
As you have probably noticed, one of these photos is distinctly more blueish than the other. I was not able to find the source of that transformation, but there are instances of it already in circulation around 2014.
This version, depicting a Boeing 767 taking of at Des Moines International Airport, appears to have been posted in September of 2005 to the Airliners.net forum, by an user named MSTAerodrome.
The image itself was not archived with the page, but was widely reproduced outside of the forum. One such copy, still containing the original credits, can be seen here.

the other day i was trying to find reference images of black people for art things but all i was finding were black-and-white images of white people! love this!!

The AI issue is what happens when you raise generation after generation of people to not respect the arts. This is what happens when a person who wants to major in theatre, or English lit, or any other creative major gets the response, “And what are you going to do with that?” or “Good luck getting a job!”
You get tech bros who think it’s easy. They don’t know the blood, sweat, and tears that go into a creative endeavor because they were taught to completely disregard that kind of labor. They think they can just code it away.
That’s (one of the reasons) why we’re in this mess.
